 OUR FOUNDER
Christine Reimer’s career in accounting for small business, began when she was about 10 years old. It was not unusual for her to spend half the cold Manitoba winter nights, sitting across the desk from her dad, calling out numbers from an adding machine tape, while her dad marked them off in his ledger of farming transactions. It was not long after, that her Dad’s accountant, who was really tired of the shoe box full of bills and receipts, decided it was time for Christine to take full responsibility for the farm bookkeeping. He set up a system and trained Christine how to record transactions and complete the monthly bank reconciliation. Gone then were the days of the chaos, stress and the high monetary costs that go along with a farmer trying to complete a set of accounting records once a year.
Christine went on to complete a degree in psychology at the University of Saskatchewan. Thinking psychology and accounting would make for an interesting mix, she attained the Certified General Accounting Designation in 1996.
Christine moved to Calgary in 1987 and since then has experienced growth opportunities in the dynamic, exciting Alberta business environment. While her technical skill lies in numbers, her passion lies in business. She searched for her niche by gaining experience in industries ranging from retail, manufacturing, finance, oil and gas midstream and public practice accounting. Most of this experience was gained in small business environments (10 to 100 employees); a reflection of her desire to have significant impact on a company’s over-all success.
During her journey of developing into a top-notch operational accountant, Christine had many opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes. She has seen first- hand the detrimental consequences of a broken accounting process and has become an expert in turning accounting disasters into functional systems.
Christine spends her leisure time outdoors with her dogs and horse when ever weather and time permits. She is passionate about providing top quality support and care to her furry friends.
